Lies

A short list of common beliefs that I believe are harmful to our living fulfilling and ever-evolving lives with each other, which I would like to be debunked in my lifetime:

  • Vulnerability is weakness.
  • Talent is something you’re born with.
  • Success requires hard work.
  • You shouldn’t express your feelings.
  • Only do it if it ‘feels good’.
  • People are inherently selfish.
  • Only results matter.
  • I’m not enough, or I don’t have enough.
  • It’s not my fault.
  • Sex is shameful.
  • Love must be earned.
  • Relationships are supposed to be hard.
  • The purpose of business is to make money.

I feel charged even as I write this.  I want to assert to the world that every single one of these beliefs is either blindly reactive, woefully incomplete, or flat-out wrong.
